your words are air
they fill my lungs and I can breathe again but I exhale and it’s like they were never there

your words are air
but I need words of earth and clay
words that build and shelter and remain
fertile words that grow so that we may feed each other

your words are air
but your fingers are like warm sacred waters washing over me with desire
enveloping me
flooding my face till I may drown in all that is your flesh on my flesh

and then the tide ebbs
and I am left gasping

your words are air
